Free Ad Rotator Script!

If you go to the home page of the site (click here to open in a new window), you will notice an ad for web hosting at the top of the posts. What is unique about this ad is that every time you reload the page, one of ten different versions of the ad show up. Try reloading the home page to see yourself!

This is accomplished through a script that randomly chooses one of 10 different records from a database. In addition to using different ad text and url text, you may use different images as well.  You may use as few as 2 different ads and as many as a hundred or more different ads. Download Here.

Requirements:

  • Hosting account that offers Mysql databases (most do). Also the host must allow server-side includes on html pages if that is where you will use this (most do). HostGator is a good host for this and even offers support.
  • Ability to edit Excel files or use a spreadsheet editor that allows you to save a text file in tab-delimited form.

  • A text editor or html editor that will allow you to edit the php files.
