WordPress Blog Setup

Step 1 – Go to http://www.wordpress.com and click on the Sign Up Now as shown below.

Step 2 – Fill out the information as shown below. Keep in mind that your user name will be part of your blog URL. So if you pick mikeiscrazyblog for your blog URL will be mikeiscrazyblog.wordpress.com!

Step 3 – On the next page uncheck the Privacy Box only if you don’t want the search engines finding your blog. Otherwise leave it checked so the search engines can enable others to find your blog. Then click Sign Up.

Step 4 – Fill in the profile information as shown below. Then check your email.

Step 5 – Open your email and click on the link they give you.

Step 6 – Click on Log In on the next screen you see.

Step 7 – You will see another Log In screen – this is the real one! Input your User Name and Password and Log In.

Step 8 – You are now at your “Dashboard”. To see what you blog looks like, click on View Site, as shown below.

Step 9 – Marvel at how bland your blog looks. It doesn’t have to stay that way. In the next tutorial, I will show you how to very quickly give your blog a makeover!
